TRACY GIRDLER
Tracy was born in the United States but has lived in Brazil,
Spain and Italy, and has traveled on four continents, experience which is
reflected in her work. Her paintings, acrylic, oil and mixed media on canvas,
are not pictures of anything in particular, but rather arise out of her vision,
which may be expressed variously in soft earth tones and subtle shadings or
vibrant colors and sharp contrasts. Texture and depth are crucial elements
lending edge, warmth, strength, and impact. She seeks not to shock or
overwhelm, but rather to intrigue the viewer and challenge the eye so as to
reveal new perspectives and insights.
She studied art at the Foxcroft School in Virginia and at the
Corcoran College of Art+Design in Washington, D.C. She also interned at
Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts.
Her works hang in private collections in both modern and
traditional homes, and in the lobbies of the Four Seasons Hotel and the Ritz
Carlton Residences in Boston.
She took part in a show in Harvard Square, Art Hop Burlington,
VT, and Holiday Hop, Burlington, VT.
Tracy won in an Artslant Showcase.
As a finalist in Artists Wanted contest, Art Takes Times Square,
her painting was shown on Times Square billboards.
Tracy was a finalist in the ESSIE awards and will be in the
